Estate sales in Las Vegas & Henderson: hire, host and shop

An estate sale is a whole-house sale, usually run over two or three days. Everything from furniture and kitchenware to tools, art, golf gear and collectibles is priced and sold on site. Around the Las Vegas Valley, estate sales happen nearly every weekend, especially in Henderson's Green Valley and Anthem areas, Summerlin and the retirement communities. They follow downsizing, moves, divorces and the death of a family member. This guide brings together everything we've written on hiring a company, running your own sale and shopping sales, so you can find the right page fast.

Estate sale, garage sale or auction?

Nevada's Department of Taxation treats estate sale companies as retailers that must collect sales tax on what shoppers buy, and the occasional-sale exemption doesn't apply to them (Tax Bulletin SUT 13-0001). Our guide to choosing a company explains what that means for you, along with the state and local licenses to check.
